Webtop Chromium Hack-Rooted Users Only

Hello,

For all you fellow rooters out there, here is a cool little hack for webtop if you hate using Firefox and would like to use Chrome instead.

I take no official credit for this and its still a work in progress but enjoy the hack from v1r7u41 from XDA.

Download the zip posted below and move the webtopchromium folder to the root of your sdcard and run these commands either by ADB or terminal emulator

su
/usr/bin/sudo -H -u root bash
cd /mnt/sdcard-ext/webtopchromiumsh
installdeb.sh

Then run these commands in a terminal emulator to run Chrome in Webtop mode

su
/usr/bin/sudo -H -u adas bash
export DISPLAY=:0
chromium-browser

We also have a irc channel on #moto-webtop on freenode if anybody wants to contribute to hacking the Webtop

Awesome. I will take advantage of this in the future.
I found it strange that they even bothered to use Firefox instead of chrome. Chrome makes so much more sense in a Google world.
