Otterbox case...how do I get it off?

Can anyone provide some guidance on how to remove the Otterbox case from the phone? I want to pop the battery cover off and take a look in the back but cannot get the case off. It's going to really suck should I need to do a reset. Thanks in advance.

I assume you got the otterbox with the silicone cover.

Take the silicone cover off
With the phone face up, place your thumbnails in between the two halves of the case on both sides, and pull up on the tabs (in the middle) with your other index fingers while pushing down with your thumbnails. It may take some muscle to get it off the first couple of times, but it will get easier. it will just pop off.
