    Question how to quickly quiet notification??

    What button do i have to push/setting to set in order to quickly quiet my notification/ringtone sound when i've got my phone in hand?? Right now once it starts it doesn't stop until completed. Using HTC Droid Eris

    Eris and Hero are much the same, on my old Hero you could push volume down and notification would stop, you could also turn the phone upside down and notification/ringer would silence

    My D2 has the same problem... incoming text notification requires, top lock button, slide lock button, and taskbar pull down to silence my incoming notification (mp3)
    I'm bumping every tread I can find on this subject... there has to be a way to silent an incoming notification with one touch of an external button... If i'm having a conversation with sombody I don't want to have to take my phone out of my pocket to silence my text song...
