How to copy the "DROOOID" audio file on the Moto Droid to the Incredible?

I love the "DROOOOOID" audio the Moto Droid has, I have it as my audio notification for my text msgs and frankly, its a bada$$ sound ha, I mean come on, how would the iPhone sound if it had something similar...not as effective! Anyways I have the Incredible now and it doesn't have that Droid audio file of course and so I want to copy that file from the Moto Droid to the Incredible. I connected the Moto Droid to the computer and tried searching the on the sd card and couldn't find the file. Is there a way I can search on the phone internally or another method to pull that file?

I think that sound is the the /system folder, and I think you need root to access that. Are you rooted?

EDIT: I'm just conjecturing here, btw, I am not actually sure this is true.

It wouldn't matter because the incredible need to be rooted first.

Of course, you could always Google around a bit and see if anyone's made an mp3 of that sound.

Then you could store it to your Incredible in all the normal ways.

Jrummy16, how so? I would just put the new audio file in the music folder and then go into settings and change the current audio notification to the new one because wouldn't all the audio files be listed now?

On the Moto Droid, I just go into settings, sound & display, nitofication ringtone, and this is where it gives me the option to selection either the "android system" or "select music" options, from there i select the music, find my file, and hit okay and it works.

Google for droid.ogg and download the file. Took me a couple of seconds to find one source.
    4shared.com - music and mp3 sharing - download Droid.ogg

Copy it to the sd card on the Incredible and you should be able to use it from there.

If files are in the music folder, the phone reads them as songs instead of ringtones/etc. The same is true for any audio file not in the correct file path.

However, you can "tell" the phone which files to use as notifications, ringtones, or alarms.

Here's how: create (if you don't already have) a folder on the SD card called media. Within that folder, create one called audio. Inside of there, create folders called ringtones, notifications, and alarms (if you have one/more of each). Then, place the corresponding sound files into the folder named for what you'd like to use them for.

That way, they'll show up in the ringtone/notification/alarm pickers.

thanks guys, I'll give it a shot. On another question, about the sd card, since the phone didn't come with the 2gig card (its pointless anyways), I wanted to know if I could use the sd card that came with the Moto Droid? Would I:

    1. Wipe the card clean, then reformat it once it's in the Incredible, or
    2. Can I copy all the files on the card to my desktop just incase if I do go back to the Moto Droid, I can reformat the card, and just copy the files back onto it?
