Use my HTC Incredible In My Car

I have some music on the SD card of my HTC Incredible and have listened to them in my car via the USB cable in the past.

However, I never know exactly how it works. It seems like it's a crap shoot whether it will work or not. I usually select "Mount As Drive" and then my radio seems to sense something, but then simply goes back to AM/FM.

What should I do to be able to plug it in and play tunes?

Should the songs be in a certain named directory? Should they all be in one directory (meaning: I have Music>Artist A, Artist B, Artist C...) so should I dump them all into the "Music" directory?

My Music directory is located at /mnt/sdcard/Music. Should it be somewhere else? Named something else?

Sorry if this is very simple, but I don't get why sometimes plugging it in I just randomly start to hear music, and other times nothing at all.

This question has more to do with car, or more specifically the head unit you are using than the droid incredible.

How's that?

Sometimes I plug it in & can navigate the filesystem...other times it simply says "Files Not Supported".

It's a crap shoot.

So says my ADR6300.
