Since JTAC let this out of the bag yesterday,

Well, as of right now I removed all the movies off my Droid. Why did I do that? Because....thanks to DVD Catalyst (Mitch), I am the guinea pig of a MP4 streaming site he created. Now I have all my movies on there and can stream them whenever I want. Runs perfectly; I am able to skip back and forth, no audio or video lag issues...nothing.

I decided to provide a sample of what I am working on.

Visit MP4 Streaming Server on your Droid (or PC)

The app basically runs that from your own computer, with your own Droid-optimized video files such as movies and tv-shows.
While it has a few configuration options, it works quite simple.

Add video files to the program, click on the start webserver button and thats it.

nice but unless you have a high upload connection from the computer with the files or own a sever this is going to be super slow from the internet. it will work good if the computer with the files are on the same wifi as the droid though.

The main idea is for at home, using your wireless network. Streaming over the internet is possible, but for most people their upload speed is not capable of handling the very high quality files.

Thank you for the demonstration. I knew the Droid display was good but these DO really highlight what the display can do.

I am impressed.

Pretty sweet having a big ol' SD card like we do.
