    Freedhome -

This is another home replacement i found in the market this morning. I'll list the advantages and disadvantages:

    Pros:

    Up to 7 screens
Up to 6 icons on each row up AND down
    CAN hide icon names
Can hide the notification bar (press menu to show it)
    Static Wallpaper
    Live Wallpapers DO work
When dragging an icon off your screen you have the option to uninstall
Create your own theme (Not even close to sweeterhome but still nice. i haven't played with it to see if it saves your custom icons, wallpaper, widgets, etc so none of that has to be done again when doing a factory reset/wipe)
i haven't tried it but according to him you can easily change the drawer handle to whatever you want.
    Very snappy and smooth

    Cons:

I've only seen one and it's a pretty big one. when changing the amount of icons in a row...it also changes the size of the beautiful home widget hopefully he'll do a fix for that but i doubt it considering it's changing the grid of the whole screen.

Here's a screenshot showing my clock not stretching all the way across

There is a free version but it has a licensing message at the top that won't go away until you donate. Apparently you can donate any amount to get the full version but the full version in the market is $5. I think the free version has all the options discussed above but i'm not sure.

Here's his website (under construction) with more info and screenshots:

    Hello Corinacakes,

I have just seen your message in my forum, and so I came here to participate to your discussion.

I will try to listen to droidforums feedback ( maybe you should first ask me by email, because i'm not sure to come and see this thread everyday, sorry)

I am really glad that you appreciate my work.

Your descriptions is really cool and i will just add some stuff:

    * The home is working in landscape/portrait. You can choose you favourite orientation in settings if you want to.

*The themes are growing everyday and you can send me your creations.

    * Creating a theme is really easy, you just need photoshop/gimp/any software talent and you can change some ressource ( the list will grow)

So i will answer your questions:

    * For now , I cannot save all the configuration (custom icons, position of the icons, etc..) of the home during a factory reset. But the themes, as they are on the SDCard, will survive a factory reset.

    * and Yes, the amount of icons will change the size of the widgets. I can work on something to make them bigger in the settings, but I focus first on some other priorities. ( as you can see that's still a beta and a provide frequent updates)

Donating ( 50 cents will work in the same way than 100 dollars or 5 Euros, I don't care the amount) will remove the License message as soon as I received your shipment/number and added in my database.

You can also buy the full version, but this version is updated every month. So maybe you will miss some stuff from the free version and have to wait.

But the paying version will remain stable and fast and the free will get all the experimental updates and may crash on an update. ( I do all my work to avoid this ;-) )

    My favourite theme:

Let us know what you think armeddroid. i really like this and think it might actually sway me from sweeterhome once the widget size thing is fixed for 5x5 or 6x6 icons.

oh ouch..that shrank everything! Even my Clock Widget! lol let me try another approach
    heh
So far, i have installed the Xperion Theme...and i have brought in Pure messenger and Toggle and Clock widgets.
Its seems pretty quick, the app drawer has a decent speed to it.
I like the fact that the notification bar is hidden when your on the main screen and re-appears when your on the menu list.
Right now i am going to mess with the X and Y axis for icons.
The more you increase the Axis the more smaller the widgets come on.
Additionally as you increase the axis the widgets lose their center point.
Somehow this needs to be isolated so that the widgets stay the right size. I like the way the apps lay out and the apps dont look too tiny as you increase the axis points.
Still messing with it. I will post back in a few...

i agree. imho i think this should be the main thing he works on. this could be THE best home replacement out there if he fixes this issue.

Also i noticed that if you increase the Y Axis to 6 icons and keep the X Axis at 4 icons.
Full size Widget Clock stays centered and is completed. And i am still able to keep the 4x4 icons beneath it. So that gives me 16 app on one screen with a full BW clock.
Thas real nice. Def liking that.
