backing up protected apps?

This is a discussion on backing up protected apps? within the Droid Applications forums, part of the Droid Apps category; im trying to backup some apps using Appmanager and a couple of them say that they are protected and it wont let me do it... ...

    backing up protected apps?

    im trying to backup some apps using Appmanager and a couple of them say that they are protected and it wont let me do it... anyone know why? and if there is a way around it?

    Titanium Backup handles protected apps but you'll need root access.

    Apps are "protected" to prevent the user from transferring them to another device. i.e. theft.

    It's funny how copy protection always ends up negatively affecting the people who bought it legally while those who downloaded the pirated versions don't have the same problems.
