Free Visual Voicemail???

Does anyone know of a free visual voicemail app that doesnt mess up your voicemail settings?? I had downloaded youmail, but it totally messed up my voicemail.

Google voice. Sign up for an invite at google. It may take a couple of weeks but it works well.

+1 -- There's a thread somewhere with people begging for invites. If I had an extra I'd throw it your way, but I recommend getting on e-bay and paying someone $2 for one.

Phone Fusion Voicemail is a great visual voicemail app. It also allows free incoming faxes to your phone.

How does Youmail mess up your voicemail settings? I used to use it...had no problems with it.

When you use Youmail, you don't use your *82 (or whatever it is) anymore, you use Youmail's number and you don't have to change a thing.

Define "mess up". Youmail shouldn't mess up your voicemail settings.

how do u set up google voice to only fetch voicemail?

It doesn't really "fetch" voicemail. You set up forwarding to go to your Google Voice number. Once you set up a GV account go into the settings for GV in the browser on your PC. It will tell you exactly what to do when you click on the Activate Google Voicemail for this phone link.

Just a reminder about Google Voice. Visual Voicemail on Google voice charges you minutes for every call forwarded to it. You pay for it as you do any non-verizon call unless you set it up as a friends & family number. If you have unlimited or you add it to F&F then you're fine, if not, you are using minutes.
