now let me just say. I had to do two battery pulls but .....after that the rom is excellent. nav works..browser is great and all my info was retained. The 3d gallery is great also....

now can i over clock this rom too?

Yes sir. I am running the Sholes v1.2 ROM overclocked to 1ghz (it will work at any speed though). The Sholes ROM, combined with overclocking, really makes it feel like a different phone.

walk a noob to overclock this thing now to 800 mhz. I hear its stable there

Opps, I was impatient. I waited 20 minutes and it was just a black screen. Maybe I will try the third time. I was afraid this was going to happen. The first time I was so close.It said it was downloading the recovery image I think and it got stuck at 99%. The last time it didn't say anything. Maybe I will do a battery pull first and try again.

How much better? Do you get absolutely smooth scrolling in the browser now? Do albums scroll nice and smooth? Any difference in the trasition from home page to home page?

It's overclocked by default at 600, which is more then enough for me.

You can do the below though if you want more speed.

Download SetCPU from the market, and when it asks what phone you have, select autodetect.

hoe screen to home screen is so fast if you blink you will miss it.

Do you know how to use adb? If not, the easiest way, now that you're rooted, is to download DroidRootHelper from the Market and it will do everything for you. I think one of the forum members (maybe Chevy1) also has something that overclocks the phone for you, but I'll have to search a little bit to find it.

Here ya go Miami. Chevy also created an app similar to DroidRootHelper that flashes the overclock kernel for you. Here is the thread:
