App that roots/OCs/multi-touches and tethers for $5

Ok this is my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong on these points. This app will root my droid and yada yada yada, but from what I understand it will also allow ota updates. So does this mean that once 2.1 is released we will eventually be updated to a rooted version of 2.1? I also understand that a future version and/or app is being developed that will allow unroot? And as a final point if these roms come loaded with a clock of 800 or 1000 will we still be able to set the clock spped on our own if we wish?

OTA's will come from Sholes, not Verizon. My Droid is rooted right now but I don't have any roms setup...I'm still using the factory kernel. So I will still get OTA's from Verizon...but once 2.1 is released everyone using that said OEM kernel will lose root because 2.1 has a different root than 2.0.

sort of. If you are rooted and accept 2.1 you will lose root, but I believe it can be put back after words.

As far as this app goes. I am moving this to the apps section. Though I have to tell you. I am interested in thew 2.0 version myself

So if I DL this app I will still get a notification from Verizon saying an update is available with the option to accept it...just like 2.0.1?

I think it would have made more sense to have waited until they could include the 2.0.0 sholes update to go along with this application with the incentive of getting the ROM update before others. I bet a lot of people would have been willing to pay $5 to get the new version a few days earlier than everyone else. I still donated my $5 to the Sholes Team because I have used all of their ROMS and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Yes it does take a while, if you get a force close on the app, just hit wait and give it a little to finish, I had to install it twice myself in order to get it to finish properly. They did do a good job on it for sure, much appreciated!

IF I were to do this, do I need to backup my aps, or will they show up after the root?
