Handcent and regular sms duplicate messages?

I'm using handcent and I love it but I still get a notification in the regular messaging icon/program, so basically all my texted are stored in two places, is there a way to stop them from showing up in the regular messaging app?

Go into your factory sms app and go into menu and turn off notifications

This brings up a question I had along the same lines. What if I want to exclusively use Handcent; can I turn off the factory messaging app now, and then switch back from Handcent to the factory app later?

Sounds like it. That's pretty much what I asked, Aaron said to just switch off notifications on the standard sms app.

Just go into Messaging, turn off notifications, and then you can use Handcent exclusively, but go back if needed.
