Google+ hangout update

An update came out for the Google+ application recently that should allow users to start hangouts from within a messenger conversation; however, I have yet to view this functionality on my device. After testing a few phones out (listed below), only one of them was able to view the new functionality. Has anyone here been able to access this new feature or has heard of a limitation on the devices that can access this feature?

Success:
- Samsung Galaxy S 2

Failure:
- Motorola Droid Bionic
- Motorola Droid RAZR

I can't do it either on my GNex either.

Shows to work on my d1, but I get a pop-up "requires front facing camera".

Google released another updated today that fixed my issue. I assume they're still working out some kinks on certain phones.

You have to have a camera with a FFC to use hangout on mobile devices. The specifications for that feature are listed here: Official Google Blog: Google+: 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99... 100.
