K-9 Email Updated

Found a new update waiting on the Market this morning.

• The list view now has checkboxes and there is now a set of new batch operations including delete all checked e-mails.
• The list view previews the first few lines of each e-mail.

There are probably other changes but these two jumped out at me.

Replying to my own post because I've found some other goodies in the new version:

• In individual message view, swipe left or write to go to the next or previous message. (LOL, just spelled swipe with a "y" out of habit from reading this board).
• It correctly opens attachments.
• Search e-mails.

Where is the search function at on the new version? I would love to have that but have not found it yet. I'm really liking the new "touch-friendly view" option. Makes the emails larger in list view so it's easier to select them.

The search function comes up in the menu when you are in the "accounts" list.

Thank you! That was one of the features I was really wanting in K-9. It's almost perfect now. Message filters would be sweet but it's already a great email app.

Its not quite perfect yet. You have to long press to select an email. I would rather have a check box like the native app.

Is anyone else's K9 Mail using upwards of 22% of battery. I went to bed last night at 12:30 with the droid fully charged and work up this morning with a dead phone at 7:00 and late for work! Anybody have anything similar...

Just checked my battery usage and k-9 is only at 2%. I have sent a few emails and check my emails fairly regularly. I think there were a couple of updates to it yesterday. You may want to check the market to make sure you have the latest version (2.403) and restart your phone. The developer mentioned to do that.

ok sounds good phone is updating now...I updated it yesterday must have missed one. I'll give it a whirl.

I updated the software and I am still running at 9%...Normal with the phone checking 6 IMAP accounts?

Do you mean to just put a check mark on each email you have to long press? There is a little green tab next to each email. If you just hit that and swipe to the right it will put a check mark on that email. Not sure if that's what you were referring to or not.
