    install launcher.apk from android 2.1 onto 2.0.1

    hey guys, just saw this at droid life 3rd post and I wanted to know if this would get in the way of any official 2.1 update, and also would you guys consider it safe, sorry im a newb

    shouldn't get in the way as it's a .apk file.

    If anything, when the update rolls around you could uninstall the launcher and just wait for the update. I'm pretty sure the update will still install whether you keep the 2.1 launcher or not.

    I have the 2.1 launcher installed now, but considering there's no for sure release date for 2.1 then this is very nice for now. I don't even know what to do with my two extra screens.

    I noticed that my Droid tends to lag/freeze ever since i installed the 2.1 launcher.

    sometimes scrolling gets stuck and i have to put it into sleep mode and wake it up again.

    Yes I restarted after I installed it too.

    Let me know how well this works.

    I installed it on my Droid a few weeks ago, and it kept crashing, to the point I finally removed it.

    Not sure if this is an updated version, or the same version.

    Please let me know if you have success in getting Laucher to work!

    She'll and vulcan I don't think its a new update, didn't work well on my phone so I got rid of it after 15min playing with it

    I read somehwere there was a issue with the GPS with the 2.1 launcher does anyone know if that is true.
