Handcent vs SMS Popup vs Go SMS

I use handcent and I absolutely love it. It is so customizable. I would never have any reason to try anything else

I've been using handcent for the longest time, I just make sure to keep the pop up message feature off, I personally don't like it. Its nice to have the choice though.

But I really like the standard sms app on squidleys rom so im just using that over handcent at the moment.

I use chompsms. I like it better than handsent. You can always download one to check it out. If you don't like it, just uninstall and try another.

I am going to try handcent first and thanks for everyones answer. I may install and uninstall each and try them.

QUESTION: how do I turn off the standard messaging app so that I don't get double messages, or whatever?

Okay I turned off notifications so actually I am good on non-duplicating.

My LED notifications are not working now though??? Droid X

I actually like the UI of the stock app, and use SMS popup for the extra options.

Switched from Handcent to GO. Really like the simplicity of GO.

I have used Go, Chomp, and Handcent. They all have features that I like. I use Handcent, it has the most things that I like.

I like the way Go has the contact number displayed under their name when I am composing a message to them.

I like the pop up window that Chomp uses. Chomp would not clear from my notification bar after I read the pop up message.

i just prefer Handcent overall at this point.
