Calendar not syncing all changes

When I create an event on laptop, Google Calendar, it sync to Droid no problem. And if I change an existing event, from the Droid side, it syncs back to Google on laptop no problem.

Problem: if I change an existing event on laptop / Google Cal side, it does *not* sync back to my Droid, Droid keeps the original (now incorrect) info. I need to be able to modify existing appts on my laptop, and know that these changes will show up on Droid. I *do* receive changes to Google Contacts made on laptop onto my Droid -- sometimes it's immediate, sometimes it takes a couple hours, but I get 'em. But changes to events that I make on laptop side do not come through to my Droid.
