Just got my Klipsch S4a's in the mail today:
Image S4A Headphones for Android
I have listened to 2 songs so far, but I think this is what I've been searching for since I got
my OG Droid 2 years ago (have since upgraded to a Droid Inc). These use an app
available in the marketplace from Klipsch that let you customize button actions, default
volumes, and even lauching an app when you plug in the headphones.
There is a bit of lag between button presses and response, which makes sense I guess,
since the button presses have to go through software before being actioned. It will be interesting
to see if the lag gets better when I upgrade to the Nexus Prime/Razr/Rezound next month ;-).
I'm pretty fussy about fit and sound. The Klipsch fit is great, although maybe not as comfortable
as the Sennheisers that I've been using for the last 7 years. Sound is good. On the one
hand, I'm hearing low level details in my music that I haven't heard with the other phones
that I've had, which is good. On the other hand, the stereo separation is slightly less than
my Sennheisers.
I had also recently tried these Etymotics:
Etymotic Research, Inc. - mc2? headset + earphones
They sounded really good, but the earpieces (none of the 3 included) were a comfortable
fit for my ears, and they did not have volume control built in.
I will post another update on the Klipsch S4a's in a couple of weeks after I've listened to
them more.
