Motorola Droid misclicking while in car dock?
I recently bought a generic car smartphone holder -- the kind that clips or suctions to the vehicle, then holds the phone in place with foam-covered clamps on the sides. The phone fits in great -- but whenever the clamps are closed, I can no longer click reliably on it. It gets the horizonal component of where my finger is right, but it's like it picks a random vertical position every fraction of a second.
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what is the solution?

What kind of phone? Does any part of the clamping mechanism come in contact with the screen?

1. Original motorola droid (see subject).
2. No.

Ugh. So apparently it's not the holder. It's the power cord. And not where it hooks into the phone, either -- it's the power-to-USB adapter portion. I never would have guessed that could cause the symptom of misclicks, but I verified it -- phone in holder, no plug = works. Phone out of holder, plug in = doesn't work. USB disconnected from adapter, plugged into different adapter = works.

It's a known fact that non-OEM charger will cause a problem.

There are quite a few existing threads on certain chargers causing interference with the capacitive screen.
