Gosms default?

I want to make gosms my default text messaging so I can increase my text message limit. Right now I have the regular text app and gosms. How do I turn off the default?

Also, will back up SMS be able to load my old restored messages onto gosms?

Open the stock sms app and:

Menu>Messaging settings>uncheck notifications.

I believe you still have to have the stock sms app on the phone still.

As for backing up/restoring. Go SMS has a backup and restore function that works great.

You don't need to restore anything.

Just install GoSMS, and all your texts will appear.

Well, no. I backed up my messages right before I switched phones and some of them have over 999 messages per conversation so when I activated new phone the standard messaging app does not allow over 999 for some reason so I want to go to gosms and restore my old messages basically.
