first big thx for your development!

can you say something about the keyboard light issue, which was posted here?
Can't really comment too much on it yet. I need to dig into the backlight control code. ICS and hard keyboards have always had issues, and then Motorola customises the handling quite a bit.

Eventually, I need to add into the framework, the ability to turn on keyboard lights (if configured) -- like CAPS LOCK (and ALT LOCK on the Droid 3). But that probably won't happen till some of the bigger issues are wrapped up.

I've been doing some troubleshooting today as to what could cause this debilitating com.android.phone stoppage I keep getting.

It seems that my build.prop tweaks and font changing don't cause this error. However, restoring some apps using Titanium Backup (the "data only" option) may have.

Your com.android.phone FC is caused by:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to get provider com.android.providers.telephony.TelephonyProvider: android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: Can't downgrade database from version 1048583 to 458759

So it looks like during one of the restores using TiBu it overwrote a SQLite db w/ an in compatible version somehow.

Any way you could tell which item that you restored caused this?

My first guess was it was the Clock/Alarm restore, but I just tried that and it seems ok. I'm going to go through them one by one again until the error happens.

Got it! It was SMS/MMS/APN Phone/Messaging Storage.

prolly gonna be labled a idiot for all eternity but gotta start some where... (first android phone weeee)

    Few questions from a newb

Can I dual boot gingerbread and ICS with safestrap or do I have to install the ICS leak even with safe strap? (I really don't understand exactly how safestrap works with is why i'm confused on everything)

If yes how would i go about doing so. If not bummer are there any good gingerbread roms to try out on the D4?

From what I was told, safestrap is for installing roms..
As for dualbooting, its either ICS or GB.. no having both. You'll brick your phone if you go to ICS and try to return to GB.. so once you take the plunge.. you're there. But ICS is pretty impressive, I'm not gonna lie, I was hesitant at first, but once I made the jump.. it's actually worth it. but to each their own! hopefully I helped you out!

Now that they're almost fully functional ICS leaks (and ROMs!), I can't imagine going back to GB.

I don't know why, but with the last two builds, my phone doesn't seem to be charging. I plugged it in at 50 over night, got up and it was at 80. And now, using it plugged in, I've lost 5%.
Edit: so now I am using the charger that came with my phone and its charging just fine. Boggles my mind cause the 2 chargers I tried before, have worked before. But its a good thing I kept the stock charger.
