    Update: Installed safestrap 3.11, and was able to install the D4 stock De-Odexed JB 98.2.18 Rom to slot1, and that is running perfectly. I can live with this, but it's still annoying that my stock is broken.

    I'm actually wondering if it might be a good idea to flash that ROM to the stock slot. It's pretty much identical. Opinions?

    just get someone to make a stock jb nandroid, and restore that
    [ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click .apk to root
    I have verified it works with these Motorola devices running android 2.3.4
    Droid 2 (a955), Droid 2 Global (a956), R2D2 (a957), & Droid X (MB810)

    haha it was that simple, i made a nandroid, on my phone, uploaded it.
    he downloaded it, restored it, and it worked

    Yup, it totally worked! Of course, fastboot is out now, so that's the better option for folks in the future.
