Whats bloatware? Seems I am ready for the d4. will probably turn 4g off
20 or 22 minutes, can't remember which
It's software preinstalled on the phone that can't be uninstalled (without some minor "hacking") and uses system resources. Check out this thread for a list.
OK. I don't think 20 minutes in over a day is even considered light use IMHO.
3 hours screen on in 13 hours is a good test.

I have to agree with Guidot. My first full day off with my D4 I was on it constantly with wifi, and most of the day medium brightness. I got between 6 and 7 hours of heavy use before it started beeping telling me to plug up.
That was around 2 hours on the phone, 3-4 hours playing games, and the rest reading or checking twitter.
A normal day at work (working 12 hour shifts)I'm on it maybe 3 hours, and the battery lasts 14-15 hours.
Light usage for me would be around an hour and a half a day, but those are really rare for me.
For the average user it is. This study indicates that at least 30% of smartphone users average 20 minutes per day of screen time or less.

Thanks for the link, made for an interesting read of a study done 3-4 years ago.
Given that the study was such a small sample size given the number of smartphones at large even in early 2009, and most of the users were on Windows Mobile 6.1 devices, I have a hard time taking much of what they concluded very seriously.
I know that I'm far from an "average" user, but my normal friends all spend at least 45 minutes a day on their phones.
Heh...20 minutes of screen time in the course of a day might as well be considered to be NO usage.
The question I'd ask is: Can the D4 fixed battery work for the heavy user? What is required to use the D4 for music, LTE surfing and/or video 4 or more hours a day plus calling, etc.?
With the D1 you could just get a spare or an extended battery, NP.
What options do Moto and vzw specifically provide for those that just use the heck out of this phone?
Aside from an aftermarket power pack to fill another pocket and turn the sole advantage of the skinnier hybrid battery into a farcical non sequitur, I don't see there are many options for the high 'power' user -- or, for that matter, for the normally casual user who may wish, on infrequent occasions to make more intensive use of his phone.
