Screen is not working

My wife's phone has has some screen problems recently but tonight the screen totally went black. The phone is on because the 4 symbols at the bottom are on. I have tried several things I have found on the internet but the screen is still black.

Any help would be appreciated.

can you boot to
AP Fastboot Flash Mode
with phone off
hold volume down & power, to boot
or
Android system recovery <3a>
with phone off
hold X & power, when you see triangle, !, & Andy, press both volume buttons

edit: or
with phone off, connect to charger, does it go into charging screen?

if none of those work, it's likely a bad lcd screen, if phone is still in warranty, or insurance have it replaced

lcd can be replaced, kind of a pain though

This just happened to me and 2 days later I have a replacement Droid 3. I have the extra warranty so it was taken care of. I was secretly hoping that they were out of 3's and would get a better phone. Oh well, still have to wait until May to upgrade.
