Keyboard(s) not working

Getting a real big problem popping up randomly. Whenever I go to any text input field(SMS, Google search, etc.) neither the on-screen keyboard or the HW keyboard will work. My text prediction still captures the key presses and knows what I'm typing but nothing will populate the actual text field. I find if I wait a little bit, sometimes up to 10 mins, the problem will go away, bu usually requires a reboot.

Is this a known issue? I've now seen this issue with MavRom, Eclipse, Steel, and the stocker, but not until about a month ago with any.

I also have the same problem on my d3. It captures the text predictions but doesn't actually type. I reboot it, and problem goes away. For a little while anyways.

Are you rooted? Rom?

I am rooted, and i am currently on stock rom.

i have the same problem on my droid razr. usually i have to go to the home screen, turn the screen off and back on and open the app where i was typing and it will work again. really frustrating.
