Root means exactly what I think it does and intentionally used the term loosely as synonymous for administrative access to do whatever you want with your phone's OS, whether it be through superuser's root permissions, modifying the kernel, or anything in between.
The real point of my post is that without the user being given permission to have root (or access to the bootloader, etc.), you're crippling or disallowing many things. One of the respondents to the OP was that you shouldn't need root because the Verizon and Motorola bloat isn't that bothersome to begin with -- as if that's the only reason you'd want it. Hence my list.
I'm kind of bothered that you feel the need to troll on something like this; were you looking to cause trouble?
