Angry Caller Can't Hear Me - What GIVES?

I've had the Droid 2 since it's release and I'll tell you, I've had nothing but problems. My Droid 1 NEVER had these issues. I've done *228, all the software updates and the problems still persist.
Lately, when I am in the middle of a phone call, I can't hear the other person on the phone. They say they can hear me fine, but all I hear is a bit of static then silence. I call back or they call me back and the same problem ensues.
No one that I've asked seems to know what I can possibly do - sure hope someone here can help me figure this out.... I didn't pay $600 for a phone that doesn't let me hear the other person in a phone call!
    THANKS

if its that bad and you don't have a bluetooth device that could be causing an issue, I would take it in for warranty. Might just be a hardware issue. My D2 does get worse reception then my D1 did though. I don't have problems with calls generaly, but my 3G drops to 1x a LOT more.

Took it to Verizon and they said they couldn't do anything about it... Only had the phone for about 40 days. Go figure, right after my Worry-Free 30 day guarantee is up, my phone goes wonky....
I have no idea what's wrong with it. The technician at Verizon said that there wasn't any way to fix it to his knowledge and to call the 1-800 number for tech support.

Call tech service. The phone is covered by a warranty.

    Thumbs down

Yes, I have insurance on it but it doesn't matter. Verizon told me unless I can duplicate the issue in front of him, he can't replace it because if he does and Motorola deems it is in fine working order, they'll charge me full price for the device.
So I'm stuck with a phone that is constantly screwing up calls and texts. I paid full retail for this phone it is absolutely ridiculous.

Nope, my D2 gets much better reception then my D1 did. I think I've seen 1x maybe one time, it's always 3G.

I would call tech service and explain the problem. I don't think you will get the same answer. I think you'll get a replacement phone. Think about it, Tech Service never has a way to verify software or hardware issues.

Odd, maybe ts just this specific phone. Of course it could be something to do with the model in conjuction with the area. I'm in the LA area, so there are tons of cell towers, so I don't think its that. Who knows..... I haven't called support on it mostly because I don't think they'll have the vaguest idea what i'm talking about or how to begin troubleshooting it. ( I don't much faith in most of the techs. most people here seem to know more!

Call Tech support. They can do more for you than a store.
