I just had the display conk out on my Droid 2, so I switched to a Droid 2 Global that I acquired from a friend that ditched it after a couple weeks of use. Anyway, I got it all fired up and running, but the power button will not lock the screen. A quick search revealed that many people are having this problem while running the Spare Parts app, but this is not the issue I'm having. I did a hard reset to factory settings when I switched the phone over, so no non-native apps were installed. The power button just wouldn't darken the screen. Also, when the screen times out, and I press the power button to wake it up, it pops up the menu to power off the phone, which on my old phone never worked. I'm worried that it's going to shut down my phone while in my pocket now.
FYI, I also tried to install Spare Parts and do the fix that others recommended with that app (changing the End button behavior), but it made no difference. Any suggestions?
