"Searching for Service" During Lockscreen

I have had the D2 since shortly after its release.

I have had this issue for the last few months where when I lock the screen and set the phone down it drops the service so I will not receive any txt msgs or calls while the screen is locked.

I can pick the phone up and hit the lock button and for just a second or two after the screen lights up it will say "Searching for Service" across the top of the screen and will have the no service icon.

After a second or two all is fine.
This happens EVERYWHERE, not just at home or at work, anywhere I am and lock the screen it happens.

Phone is not rooted at all and never has been.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

You will probably need to wipe data.
