handcent sms not sending to two people

handcent sms is not letting me get text messages through to two people on my contact list... they go through when the messages come in and i respond with the quick response prompt... but otherwise they fail, get the red X and they fail, i hit retry, they still fail

help?

Do you have any extra characters in the beginning of those 2 numbers in your contacts?

no i dont, just the area code and the numbers... i can call the people too... but i cant text them

That's all I can think of that would prevent sending to select contacts, except maybe you have their number listed as something other than mobile.

i just checked and they both at +1 in front of it, but it didnt help, and the contacts are set as mobile

The +1 causing texts to not work is a known issue with these phones. Double check the +1 is gone, reboot your phone, and try again. Let us know how that goes.

Im having the same issue with 2 contacts, One of them ive been txting for years,
Ive tried removing the +1 before the number but the numbers are off of Facebook, and it links up, when i manually type the number for txt it will send but when i select the contact it will fail.. But only on 2 contacts.
Its really bugging me, any other solutions.. Please help

1. unlike those two on face book, delete them on ur phone and re enter them manually without the +1

2. stop using facebook app on your phone, go to My accounts and delete Facebook and then fix the two nrs as above (most of us have given up on Facebook app and just use the web site directly.)

3. ask the two contacts to go into mobile settings on Facebook and re enter their numbers without the +1.

So basically not only is the facebook app practically broken but it can actually prevent you from texting your friends? That kind of pisses me off.
