[Q] Engineering phone?

I got a warranty replacement D2 today. When I first powered up the phone it bootlooped. Needing a working phone, I SBF'd and got it up and running. What struck me as odd was that RSD Lite 4.8 saw the phone as Engineering (see screenshot) with no ESN/MEID. I'm a little concerned because the phone has a bootloader 2.37 loaded onto it versus version 2.35 on my old D2.

UPDATE:Trying to SBF again bricked the phone.
