Constantly syncing??? HELP!!!

My Droid 2 has been showing the sync symbol in the notification area for 6 hrs. So, I went into settings=>Running services to double check if indeed my phone was syncing. Yep!

Can anyone tell me what, why this is happening?

My guess (and feel free to take this with a grain of salt) is that something got stuck syncing because it couldn't connect, or "half-connected" where it gets acknowledgement from the server and nothing else.

Did you try rebooting the phone?

I soft reboot it. Perhaps a hard reboot will work.

Try putting it in airplane mode for a few seconds.

Excellent suggestion b/c it's logical. However, Droid 2 is deaf to logic sometimes.

I caved and executed a hard re-boot. It's finally back to normal.
