Increase battery life with blur???

So I sbf'd back to stock froyo then did the gingerbread update of course and I have always been a fan of blur even the most others aren't and I was just wondering what I could do besides freezing apps to improve battery life with it without having to put a new rom on it (not that I have a problem with that ) or does anybody know of any enhanced mostly stock blur roms out there that are worth a shot?
