Droid 2 Global ROMs

Alright, I've tried posting comments with no response anywhere, so here's a thread. is there anyone trying to port/make roms for the d2g? verizon seems to be pushing it more than the other versions and now there is an sbf, so i dont see why there wouldnt be more development. maybe its that the sbf came out recently, so there isnt anything ready, but it doesnt even seem like anyone is trying, except for fission. whats the deal? does no one have one to test on, or does no one want to port anything in the first place?

What problems did you have with Fission 2.4.3? just curious because I flashed my D2G about a week ago with it, and I love it so far.. I haven't found anything that doesn't work or bugs. Just wondering if there's something I haven't discovered yet?

No problems because I have not done it. Various users report bluetooth does not work, music controls do not work, several users report Droid Overclock does not work and there seem to be various ringtone issues - sound and or ringtone just changes to something else.

Ah, ok. I don't use bluetooth and I either listen to xm or pandora, so haven't really messed with audio controls.. haven't overclocked and not really interested in that atm.. I guess I did just miss all of the the bugs lol.

Well, I am not sure I would call them bugs - the thing is - I do not know what to call them. They happen to some people but not others. And they are not always noobs just messing things up. People who owned other Droids and have flashed roms in the past are having issues.... they go back to SBF and everything is fine. Back to fission and the same problems. Go figure. I am also concerned that Fission is at 2.5.7 except global, where it is still at 2.4.3. As it is, I found a bloatware removal script that I think will take care of most of my issues. With Wifi & GPS off most of the time I am doing better with battery. I wish it would last a little longer, but I am settled on getting the extended battery. I might turn off the underclocking just to see how it affects battery. I am told it was WiFi that was killing it.

I will post after a while to tell ya'll how running stock battery controls affects things.

I do know what you mean about things affecting certain users and not others. I guess my case is just a combination of being lucky and just not using some of the services that have been known to be buggy on fission 2.4.3. I too am awaiting the D2G fission version to catch up with the others at 2.5.7
I think I have noticed an improvement in battery life since flashing to fission, but it's only a small improvement. If not plugged in, then I try to have the screen at it's lowest setting, and I have everything turned off other than 3g and that seems to help some.
