Titanium Backup Pro?

Hey guys. I've been a long term user of Titanium Backup free version. I've been considering getting the pro version. Can someone tell me the biggest differences between the two? Thanks.

I bought Titanium Backup Pro (before it was on market and I had to trust the guy to send me a "key") and haven't had one regret. It is one of the VERY FEW apps that has survived the test of time. Constant updates (almost annoyingly constant), but better too many than too little. I did this so long ago that I am going to have to look up all the bonuses for getting PRO, but I am pretty sure my main reason was "auto installer" back then. When you flashed a ROM Titanium would restore all the apps, but you had to click "Install" on one side of the keyboard , then "Okay" on the other side of the screen, and if you weren't careful you might skip an app by cancelling one. It was an app-by-app process.

Okay straight from the Google Market description on my phone, "The PRO version adds 0-click bath restores (see my above description of the alternative lol), Dropbox Sync, conversion between user <=> system apps, Dalvik cleaner & MORE!

I understand some of those things are not special but they some feature are more convenient than others. But if you're having doubts, I can say this program is here to stay for a while. Whether you need it is the only issue. Are you rooted? Do you flash ROMs? Do you like to restore data for your apps when you flash ROMs of the same version of Android?

There are many reasons NOT to buy it, which were not such easy alternatives when I first bought a PRO key. Such as terminal commands or scripts to back up apps & account info to SD, like in SS Chevy ROMs. Other methods of backing up and restoring exist, but if I were to use an app rather than a script or ADB, I would be using this program as PRO.

Dropbox Sync is excellent because you never know when you are going to lose your phone, you may have backed up your apps regularly for weeks or months, and never even though to back them up outside of your phone. If your phone is lost and everything is backed up on your phone, scheduled Dropbox sync would get you back up and running in no time!

Of course I'm rooted. I said I was a long time user of TB and it's a root only app. The zero click batch restore seals the deal for me. I'm going pro. Thanks.

what do you mean "freeze"?

You can either uninstall bloatware or apps you don't want (very bad), or you can freeze the app. This essentially blinds the system to seeing the app. Its like it's not there. It wont run in the background and use cpu cycles as if it was uninstalled, Buuuut you can always defrost said app and bring it right back to your app drawer. This is important, for example, when an ota update rolls out. You would need to have all that bloatware back on the system for the ota to work. If you've uninstalled those apps (blockbuster, dlna, vz navigation etc..) you are SOL and would have to sbf or go searching for each individual apk file. Pain in the arse if you ask me. Hope this helps

Oh yeah, it does help. I went pro and did a batch restore and left the room! No more pressing install over and over.

Yeah I keep max backup at 1 so there isn't many backups of the same app. Once in a while ill go through and erase old system stuff that is obsolete, just to keep it neat. Happy to help

You should understand what the app was designed for before hating on it. It only backs up system data, not the app itself. That's why it just hangs there. It's looking for the app to restore the backed up data to. If you want a system app, you can find it on these forums, the web or a different rom zip that contains it.
