    Rooting Question from a Newbie

    I have a Droid 2 that I was considering rooting just to get rid of the bloatware from Verizon. Can I root just to delete those items and not install a custom rom? If I do root, will it wipe my phone, meaning will I have to download everything again? Or can I root and essentially leave the phone the same way it is now, minus the bloatware?

    Yeah you can root the phone without a rom and it doesn't wipe the phone.

    Rooting changes nothing on your phone but gives you access to more of your phone. I used z4root to root mine. Easiest way!
