Petes tool question.

Hey sorry if this is the wrong place. I just rooted my phone using Petes motorola tools for my D2g. My pc O.S. is ubuntu if that matters. Anyway I want to install a custom rom I had cm7 but screwed up and bricked it. What roms or apps etc should I research so I dont brick again? Thanks.

mostly likely problem with cm7 was you had gingerbread stock (2.3.3),
and tried to install official cm7 which is still froyo (2.2)

but you didn't say, so could be something/anything else

for the most part rooted is rooted, doesn't matter how you got there

if you install a rom and have a problem with that rom, post in that rom's thread,
don't start new thread, if you want help, from people that know that rom

make a back up, in clockworkmod recovery, wipe data, and any other instructions in rom's thread

use droid 2 bootstrap to get to cwm recovery, not rom manager

make sure your battery is charged before flashing

wipe data/cache after flashing, if phone is bootlooping, I wipe cache every time
