New Hotmail App Possible Battery Drain

The new hotmail app is accounting for 11% of my battery usage behind phone idle, standby and display. Number one for all my apps. Which is weird because I haven't even read any email today. Is this happening to anyone else?

This was happening with version 1.7.1 of the Facebook app. The current version (1.7.2) seems to have fixed the bug.

Do you have a backup of the app with Titanium (or similar)? If so, maybe try loading that backup and seeing how it behaves. You might also be able to find an old .apk for that app somewhere on the great internets.

I'm not sure, its slightly more refined. They finally decided to make their own so I tried it out.

Is the hotmail app in the market? I looked and didn't see one by hotmail. I've been using one called better hotmail or something and it seems nice.

    ere is the app.

First time I looked at this. Looks like MS teamed up with Seven to do this. That's why the UI looks so familiar.

Have you tried setting up your Hotmail account via Exchange? It's simple, and it's working fine.
