Since the 2nd-init hijack allows us to have roms that are true aosp, and arent just modded blur roms, does this mean when google releases ice cream sandwich, that us Droid 2 and X users can get it too, even if motorola doesnt make another OTA?

Since the 2nd-init hijack allows us to have roms that are true aosp, and arent just modded blur roms, does this mean when google releases ice cream sandwich, that us Droid 2 and X users can get it too, even if motorola doesnt make another OTA?
The D2 and DX had an EOL date in November. That means that Verizon wont sell them anymore, it doesnt mean Motorola wont update the phone anymore. But what Im saying is, since we have the 2nd-init exploit, does it mean someone can make a ROM for the D2/DX that uses the ICS kernel, instead of the froyo or gb kernel?
It would be awesome if they could do that.
