About LinkBacksI am not able to download pictures from my phone to my laptop. Whenever I have tried the laptop has asked for the cd that came with phone which of course no cd was included. So how do I identify the hardware ? Also has anyone ever used the tethering without paying extra for it ? someone said you could.

You need to root in order to tether. To root the Droid X2, you need to ask in the appropriate forum.
