Droid 2 Boot loop

M Droid 2 has had multiple problems since I initially got it from Verizon. Now the latest problem is the worst.

I woke up this morning and my phone was off. It's possible the battery died because I just moved into the apartment and noticed that in my bedroom I get **** reception so it is always searching for a signal. I usually charge it overnight out of convenience but I did not last night. First thing I tried doing was charging it via USB Cable to a computer. I let it on there for about 45 minutes and came back and nothing. I plug it into my other computer (which is confirmed to have successfully charged it multiple times) and let it sit for about 30 minutes. It will boot up until the red droid eye and then either shutdown or bootloop. I hold 'X' to get into recovery and that does not work.

Any suggestions?

I recently had a boot loop problem. I dont know what caused it to freak out but it started running extremely slow then the screen blacked out and was unresponsive. The only way I could get out of the boot loop was to boot to the recovery menu then factory reset it. I dont know if solely holding down "x" will work, but I held down the power button and X til the recovery menu came up, then used the volume buttons to navigate the short menu. If that doesnt work, probably your only bet is to go to Verizon.

When my phone freaked out and entered the boot loop I tried to research why it glitched out, could be an app or something. Theres a lot of other people who reported the same problem. My theory is that the Android OS, while powerful and flexible, is too new and rushed out before they worked out all the kinks.

Part of my problem is it doesn't always boot up.

It will do 1 of 3 things...

1) Nothing
2) Boot up once, get to the red eye, freeze for a second, then turn off.
3) Boot up , get to the red eye, freeze for a second, restarted (aka boot cycle)



I will continue trying and crossing my fingers.

Ok guy...Just hold power and x at the same time while the phone is off....then when you get to the triangle screen, hit the little spy glass or search key next to the @ button...wipe data factory reset...you will be out of box fresh and have to re dl your apps and all....

I can't get it too boot. I've held the power button for about 30 seconds and nothing has happened.

When I plug it in I get the white "connected" light but other then that it does nothing. I've checked the phone and battery and there is no water damage.

You pulled the battery...waited a few secs...put back in...while off, you (at the same time) held down the power button and the x button and didn't get to stock recovery? Well hold power and volume down and see if you can get to bootloader, if you get the bootloader screen you will be fine..just sbf..hope you have a computer...its not hard to do....

I've tried both of those and they don't work. It will just boot loop a few times and then turn off (I suspect when the battery dies). What's odd is it's plugged into a USB charger for hours but it either doesn't hold the charger, rapidly depletes, or isn't actually being fully charged. I tried to plug it into a wall charger and boot it without the battery but i've had no luck.
