A rom is essentially a custom framework for the phone. It can be made to optimize the performance of the phone by removing blur and bloat and allowing easy overclocking. And yes it requires root.

downsides?
Violates your warranty, chance of instability. You can always talk with users first though to se if they have good experience with a particular rom.

Warning after you root modding is highly addictive and of course your phone will be way cooler than a stock phone I did my d1 because I wanted wireless teethering and is greeeeaaaatttt

so my Q is i have z4 root... and clockworks mod and i still cant seem to get my phone to take a liberty ROM...
any A's??
Its easy enough to sbf back to stock before sending your phone in if your phone is dead enough to send in and then they wouldnt know you were rooted/running a custom romQuote:
