1. Download ROM Manager (Free) from the Market.
2. Flash ClockworkMod recovery through ROM Manager.
3. Download CyanogenMod, choose Google Apps.
4. Press OK to install.

Sorry for the noob question. I just rooted and used the instructions in another thread. It used sprecovery. Is there an issue in flashing clockworkmod recovery now? I love the idea of using ROM Manager.

When you download ROM Manager from market, you will be able to flash clockwork recovery from that app. In fact, you cannot use ROM Manager unless clockwork is installed.

Ok - but doing that won't hurt anything right? Just won't to ensure there won't be a conflict or an issue since sprecovery is already installed.

It will replace sprecovery with clockwork. Won't hurt anything.

You can always flash sprecovery back from ROM Manager as well.

Couple of more questions. When I rooted and went to froyo I had to reinstall all apps even though I used the same gmail account. Is that likely/possible with applying this mod? Also is there a list of what this mod gives you over the stock froyo that is out? When I download CM06 it asks what home launcher to use - what is the difference?

I rooted and installed this ROM last weekend. Everything works great. The one problem I seem to be having is that I am unable to get certain apps from the market. When I click on the app in the market where it usually says "install" it says "cancel download". Nothing however is downloading and if I click on "cancel download" the market app crashes and reloads. I have installed the "market fix" that is floating around the forum to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm on rooted 2.1 right now. Installed CM6 RC2 last night and all went well. Most apps redownloaded off the market but a lot were missing and some I couldn't find in the market anymore.

I ended up restoring from nandroid because of issues with my battle.net authenticator, so I'm back to 2.1 rooted.

My question is, if I go back to CM6, what do I have to do to maintain my apps and things like saved games?
