Turn Off Word Prediction?

Hey guys,

I'm running CM 7 stable and was wondering how I could turn off the word prediction when sending a text message? I couldn't find any options for it under the settings.

Also, I've been having trouble with the bar that keeps some of my most used apps. It usually takes up the length of the bottom of the screen (like I like), but sometimes it gets stuck. I took a snapshot of it and included it for your viewing pleasure.
