    Running Cyanogenmod?

I just rooted my phone last night running unrEVOked .

And I just downloaded ROM Manager.

So I was going to run Cyanogenmod.

But... Is there any point in running it with Gingerbread SUPPOSEDLY right around the corner?

And if Gingerbread does come out... Then how hard would it be to get rid of Cyanogenmod, so that I can get rid of root and update through OTA?

    Thanks in advance!

What phone are you talking about? Gingerbread will never come to the OG Droid as an OTA update. Froyo was the end of the line for that phone.

GB is already available via OTA for the X.

CM7 is Gingerbread based ....it's got all the stock 2.3.4 features + a whole lot more which is what makes it CM. I'd take it any day over the gingerblur build moto cranked out for the X.

I have the Incredible. And I did everything on the installation page according to script, and it started backing up my phone, then shut down. I don't think it worked. I went to check to see what I was running, and it still said 2.2.

And I tried to run CyanogenMod 7.0.0

Try the Incredible section, this area is specific to running CM on the Droid 1.
