    Xoom teethered to a D1....

Ok, hopefully somebody here can help me figure this out. I have a Droid 1....just picked up a Xoom this past week. I am TRYING to get the Xoom tethered to the Droid. I was told to go out and download WiFi Tether, install it on my Droid, pair the D1 and Xoom via Bluetooth, run the WiFi Tether on the phone and all should work....nope! I can pair the two, but they will not connect. Oh, I'm running CM7....am I doing something wrong? I came from MIUI rom because I read that this works with CM7.

    Help, please!

well, your first problem is that you're trying to teether... LOWELL.

    but ok,
usually you don't have to do anything with bluetooth, so i'm not sure where you heard that or what it means... and in my experience the success of tethering is much more dependent on the kernel you're using, rather than the rom. most kernels should support it, the one that always worked for me was p3droid's

I had this same problem when I first got my Xoom. After the two are paired, go into the Xoom Bluetooth settings, and press where it says Droid (paired but not connected). This will connect the two (or at least it worked for me!). Hope this works for you.

    Teethered...tethered....I get it. Ha ha.

Anyway...back to the subject at hand. Here's what I was originally informed:

    "Should be possible without rooting

Download Wireless Tether from the market and install on your DROID. Open Wireless Tether and switch it to use Bluetooth. Exit Wireless Tether.
From your XOOM, set your device to Airplane mode.
Head into the Bluetooth settings on both your DROID and XOOM and turn it on.
Check the box on both to make “Discoverable” and then “Scan for nearby devices.”
Once both are seen, head back into Wireless Tether and turn it on.
From your XOOM tap on “DROID” and “Pair” both devices when prompted.
Each device should say “Paired but not connected.”
From your XOOM, tap on the Wrench icon next to your paired DROID.
You should now see a Tethering option. Tap on it.
You should be tethered. Enjoy. "

launch wifi tether first in bluetooth mode. turn on xoom bluetooth then pair devices. you will get confirmation asking for permission on both devices. go to xoom look for droid it will say paired not connected just click on where it says droid. works for me every time every rom. good luck

You can't use wireless tether to a Xoom, it will not connect to an ad-hoc network.

You should be able to use bluetooth tho.
