Now I'm wondering if the tweaks in your build.prop would interfere with what's edited into the local.prop file??? Just don't want the 2 crossing each other out you know.
    You mean...
    Code:
    ro.ril.hsxpa=3
    ro.ril.gprsclass=12
    ro.ril.hep=1
    ro.ril.enable.dtm=1
    ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
    ro.ril.enable.a53=1
    ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1
    ro.ril.htcmaskw1.bitmask=4294967295
    ro.ril.htcmaskw1=14449
    ro.ril.hsupa.category=9
    There is no duplication there and you can put them in build.prop as well.

    btw, once one of those prop settings is applied, it cannot be changed.
    But I dunno if local.prop or build.prop is executed first.

    I guess the only way to know is to give a parameter a setting in both prop files and see which one sticks.

    The prop file that has the setting that sticks is the file that runs first.

    Just wanted to say I've been running your build.prop with Prime #20 kernel and the Supercharger script. This is the smoothest my phone has ever run. Thanks

    I'd have to agree. It's been a real chore toying with different settings trying to get GB to run smoothly. But very frequently somebody will find something new to help out the OG even more. I gotta start documenting all these tweaks before I start losing track for when I might have to wipe. Thanks again everyone!!

    I looked it up because I was curious...I'm not sure which runs first but I do know the build.prop takes priority over the local.prop (build.prop overwrites local.prop)

    That's why I'm thinking the build.prop is first because from what I read its always the build.prop that sticks...local.prop is usually just easier to work with because it usually doesn't have much in it, right?

    Btw I noticed a few roms already have a couple of you 3g tweaks kinda, they have lower values though and are in the build.prop so you might wanna make whatever script will copy them will overwrite the values already set...I believe liquid is one rom that might have that issue

    GPS is only activated per application, and it has to do with Satellites, but to answer your question it doesn't not affect GPS. What the delay does is when you are moving through 4G, 3G, and 1x or even affiliated networks, this delay smooths out those constant battery draining searches, which happen ever when you're connected to a reliable signal.

    This is a slightly different topic, but I'm fairly certain these values are only for GSM/HSPA networks and not CDMA, therefore have no affect on our Droids, unless you have some how managed to get it onto a HSPA network.

    The specific values in question are well... pretty much all of them. HSDPA Category, drm, and the hsupa (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access--which is a property of HSPA and HSPA+ networks), gprs (General packet radio service is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G GSM networks), hsxpa (High Speed Xlink Packet Access which is designed to enable Internet applications in UMTS networks).

    Here is a quote from xda that might help shed some light on this.
    One thing you have know about the ro.* settings in build.prop, are that they are writeable one-time only, i.e. once any ro.* value has been set, it becomes read-only and you cannot use setprop [or local.prop] to change it further.
    Source: XDA

    @Winner: I noticed in your build.prop from past nighties (haven't checked a recent yet) that it has duplicate entries of some lines including the Google wifi watch parameter. I actually stripped out the those "watch" settings (Googe-GUEST) from my build.prop, but just to give you a heads up.

    @Everyone else: Those who are having force closes (I think someone said they were), were you able to directly attribute them to changing the build.prop, if so, what parameters (if any) have you observed to be the culprit?

    Also, has this helped your battery and performance? Thanks!

    I'll continue my research. I've been emailing back and forth with Samsung and Sony Senior Android Developers about certain aspects of the boot scripts in Android involving init.d, but that's an entirely different thread all on it's own, but I might want to get some feedback on that as well so keep your ears on!

    Yep I just tested the home priority in local.prop and build.prop
    The build.prop setting stuck.

    However, what is true is that wherever a ro.* setting is set, no matter where it is, even if it's in local.prop, it cannot be changed.

    Build.prop is run first, therefore nothing that is run after it will change it's settings.
    I think the only way to trump it, on milestone anyway, is to have a setting applied in mot_boot_mode
