    RC vs. Nightly builds

I've never installed a nightly on my phone, so pardon the ignorance.
Currently, I'm running CM7 RC4 on my OG Droid and would like to try the nightlies (assuming the nightly after an RC is closer to a stable release).

Can anyone give me some feedback on how the latest nightly works compared to RC4?

Do I have to wipe and install or ...?

    Thanks in advance.

I always wipe and install, as well as formatting boot/system/data/cache. Some people don't and say they're fine, some people probably have alot of issues, it just depends. RC's are simply relabeled nightlies built by CVPCS for us. Personally if you're okay with RC4 I would hold out until he releases CM7 final which hopefully will have a fix for 3g connectivity and camcorder/other small bugs. If you want to do it anyway nightlies aren't going to be any different than the RC's, newer nightlies may have more features and/or bug fixes. Hope that helps

Yes! It definitely does. Thank you! RC4 is working OK for me at the moment. The occasional drop of 3g after a call that won't come back for a few minutes, but most times its back in less than a minute, so I can't complain too much.
I hope CM7 stable for the OG Droid is released soon!

For nightly feedback, follow the build thread here - **CM7 Build Thread**

Basically nightlies are automatically built with whatever is currently checked in, if you don't see a new nightly for a given day, something caused the compile to fail most likely.

The changelog is in the first post of the link above.

RC's are built and tagged manually by the developer.

I'd like to add a note about the thread linked in the post right above this one. It does for a fact have links to the latest CM nightly, but also mostly highlights the builds that expertontech/winner00 builds from the CM source.

3G drop was fixed by CVPCS, and is included in winner's latest build, 39-2.
