I have unknowingly posted this question in the "sticky" note for CyanogenMod Installation. So, I am really not sure if anyone would bother to look at the sticky, esp my question in it. So, I am posting a repeat. Mods please excuse me for doing so. You may delete the post from the sticky thread.
So anywho, here is my problem and how I followed the steps.
Phone Used: Moto Droid 2
1. Rooted my phone using Z4Root . Below tutorial followed:
HOW TO ROOT Droid 2 - IN DEPTH TUTORIAL
2.Rooted successfully, as I can install Tether App and run it successfully
3.Downloaded Titanium Backup (although I have not played with it)
4.Downloaded and installed Droid 2 Bootstrapper as per the tutorial here:
HOW TO ROOT Droid 2 - IN DEPTH TUTORIAL
5. Ran the Bootstrapper and created a backup. Backup successful
6. Googled for CyanogenMod and stumbled on this page:
Video: Installing CyanogenMod V5.0.4.2 for Droid - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
7. Installed ROM Manager from the Market
8. Downloaded "Stable" version of CyanogenMod from the link below for Droid
CyanogenMod Mirror Network - Powered by TDRevolution
Name of the file : update-cm-6.1.2-Droid-signed
9.Per the instructions on the link here I opened ROM Manager and hit on "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" and selected Droid 2 on the next popup window
10. Got a message - "Successfully downloaded ClcokworkMod Recovery"
11. Selected "Install ROM From SD Card" option and selected the "Update.zip" option
12. Phone got rebooted and it did its thing of Formatting and finally said it was ready to reboot (I could take a picture of that screen if you guys need to see)
13. Phone came back up online and it looks exactly like before. NO ROM GOT UPDATED OR CHANGED.
So, what you guys think I am doing wrong here? My hunch is the "ROM Manager" and "Droid 2 Bootstrapper" are conflicting with each other????? I could be definitely wrong, I just took a pretty wild guess there
Thanks for reading my question and any help is greatly appreciated!
