Even though I'm in Canada, there are ways to get what you want... hehe

My setup is pretty much the same.
I have the voice widget for left messages.

I never had this google voice issue... until yesterday!?

Like... wtf man... what did you do to my phone?

    No seriously, that is weird.

I close gvoice and it instantly reappears/reopens so I have to close it again.

I tried with and without any minfree tweaks but still the same.

It may be a CM7 issue. I dunno.

    Zep,

Thanks for the confirmation. I think Prime has his finger on what is going on here as he has mentioned it a few times, but so far it has not caused me any isses, so I am not loosing any sleep over it. At least I know not to get my hopes up that it is necessarily a memory issue that can be easily "fixed".

    Thanks,

    Craig

This is explains basically what it does.

I've rearranged the memory groupings because by default, they sucked so badly in gingerbread.
I changed it to be more like froyo - but better.

I left foreground apps at priority 0 in slot 1.

In slot 2, I put the launcher with priority 1 with visible apps at priority 2.
This means that the launcher isn't bulletproof with priority 0, but it's damn hard to kill.
If you "lock home in memory", the launcher will get a 2 priority - same as visible apps but it it will be the first visible app to get killed.

Slot 3 is fun. By default, CM7 and Cronos Gingerbread for Milestone don't even use slot 3.
It's a big stupid black hole. It's probably the same for droid ginger roms? Anyway, it's stupid.
Because all the apps you're using are in slot 4 and getting killed.
So I moved all those apps that were in slot 4 up to slot 3.

Whatever was in slot 5 got split into slot 4 and 5 depending on priority.

Slot 6 is the same. Empty app. Who cares.. heh.

It works with all roms that use the /system/etc/init.d boot script folder

I'll end up with 5 or 6 settings but the first SUPERTEST script will give you a very nice ride in the meantime

Try the first SUPERTEST and enjoy your new phone

Edit: I'll put up a thread here a droidforums when it's all put together
So I updated busybox to 1.19 with busybox installer but I still got a bunch of "stderr" messages when I ran the SUPERTEST script with gscrpt. Everything seemed to work anyway, but I don't know how to check for sure. Would everything work despite the "stderr" messages or is it messed up and I just don't know where to look? Also do you have any suggestions as to why I still get the errors despite updated to busybox 1.19? Thanks.

Hi yeah it would still work fine.
Some roms don't show them so it has to be an android setting that makes gscript spit out stderr for every line of code.

    I gotta find that setting...

You can check oom grouping with auto memory manager (don't allow superuser permission) and check minfree values with my status script which is in the v5 gscript pack

    Very nice work zepp
Question. I wanted to keep setCPU in memory at all times, so it doesn't say Restarting in applications>running services. So I tried that bulletproof app script you had... I created a file in /etc/init.d called 97oom, and it looks like this:
    Code:
    #!/system/bin/sh
    sleep60
    PPID=$(pidof com.mhuang.overclocking)
    echo "-2" > /proc/$PPID/oom_adj
Tried -17 as well. I don't think I have a oom_adj command or dir. Is this maybe for a milestone only, and needs to be tweaked for OG droid?

Great scripts Zepp!! I used your V6 script with Script Manager on my Droid 1 and it definitely helped. Very cool.

I've not tried that particular script as I do not use Setcpu, but I did read on Zepp's XDA thread that his scripts should work on all phones.

Thanks for the good words BayouFlyFisher

meishkov: I dunno about the CM7 for droid, but the one for milestone by nadbalak now has a feature where it can lock 2 user defined apps in memory much like the "lock messaging app" and "lock home in memory" options.
Although, it requires manual editing of build.prop (or local.prop... I forget)

Anyway, changing priority of an app permanently looks to be not as bulletproof as I had hoped. Android will eventually drop the app's priority level and then be a candidate for killing. When it re-opens, it has a different PID.

script manager has widgets so you can make a widget on your desktop for any script and click it whenever you need to so the PID is updated.

Another app that I LOVE is CPU Tuner.. it doesn't suck much juice and you can use it to replace SetCPU, toggle 2g and juice defender... plus it always works

Wow zeppelin.. that is some amazing stuff you just pushed out with that newest supercharger script. I just applied some of it. Looking through it, just wow, can only imagine how long that took, and how many brews of course
Thanks again for all your hard work. Dedicated devs like yourself and everyone on droidforums and xda are the only things keeping our OG droids running top notch!
